Brown County Winery

With two locations in Nashville, Brown County Winery mirrors the strong arts and crafts community of this scenic Southern Indiana shoppers’ mecca. Dave and Cynthia Schrodt opened their retail shop behind the Nashville House restaurant in 1986. In 2000, they opened a new winery and tasting room just outside of town in Gnawbone. Enjoy free wine sampling of grape wines, and their specialty, fruit wines. Wine-related gifts are sold at both locations. Watch the wines being made through large glass windows in the winery tasting room.

Owen Valley Winery

In 2004 the Leaderbrand family decided that it was time for a change. We pooled our interests, talents and money together to build a family owned and, operated business or as our permit says, a Small Farm Winery. It was important to create the Farm Winery together so it reflected ourselves and interests. We decided collectively what grapes to grow, and what our personal mission would be followed throughout its growth. Practically poetic is how the agriculture “traditions” from Bonnie and Preston combined with vision and conscience of Jo Anna and Anthony, and the youth of Cody and Connor can unite three generations. Through an extensive search in southern Indiana, 40 acres of land was purchased three miles south of Spencer Indiana in Owen County by Bonnie and Preston Leaderbrand. This area of Owen County is commonly known by the locals as Owen Valley providing the ultimate combination of terroir for wine production and tourism aesthetics. In 2005, Leaderbrand Vineyards LLC was formed, and in 2006 we formed Owen Valley Winery LLC.

Huber’s Orchard & Winery

Huber’s Orchard & Winery began farming back in 1843 when our ancestors settled in Starlight, IN from Baden-Baden, Germany . Growing primarily fruit, our farm began to diversify in 1978 when we opened the doors of our winery. Today, we have over 550 acres of farmland on which we grow many fruits, vegetables, Christmas trees, pumpkins, and grapes. We have a children’s farm park, farm market, cheese shoppe, ice cream factory, winery, gift shoppe, banquet facility, Indiana’s first distillery – The Starlight Distillery, and proudly participate as one of the seven wineries on Indiana’s first wine trail – The Indiana Uplands Wine Trail. The most enjoyable part about being in our business is the focus on families, tradition, and heritage. Knowing families that we touch each day and the countless memories that are made through an experience at Huber’s Orchard & Winery!
